COMPETITION RULES

To be eligible for a scholarship you must:

1. be able to attend one of the MFA 2013 Screenwriting Workshops:

Dubai, UAE, June 16 - 20
Kathmandu, Nepal, June 9 - 12, 2013

2. submit a SHORT STORY IDEA following the guidlines below

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: MAY 15, 2013



SHORT STORY IDEA:

Write a short story idea. It should be an original story, with which you are familiar: it happened to you or your friend, you witnessed it, you heard a first-hand account of it, etc.

The story should have a strong conflict and a strong Protagonist (lead character, hero).

Describe the following:

Protagonist and Antagonist
Strong Conflict
Story line (main events only)
Twist at the end (climax)
Premise (story message)

The story idea should be 500 words or less. Please place the story idea in the MAIN BODY of your email (NO attachments) with the subject line: STORY IDEA, and send it to submissions@mfacademy.com.

Why are we asking for your ideas?
We're looking for the most talented people to invite them to join our Program.

Who owns the idea you submit?
You do. You're applying for a FREE seat in our Program. Winners of the competition will get a chance to develop their idea into a script and make a film based on the script.

Winners will be notified by MAY 18, 2013

ONLY CORRECT AND COMPLETE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED



***PRIZES (SCHOLARSHIPS) can not be exchanged for cash. They apply toward the fee for the MFA SCREENWRITING WORKSHOPS in Dubai and Kathmandu.
